A therapy progress tracker your client's therapist can actually reference

Session recall is filtered by what a client remembers and what feels worth mentioning. Mendly closes that gap: clients tap once to log a thought between sessions, and a weekly report shows the therapist when and how often it actually happened — a record neither party has to reconstruct from memory alone.

The research

A meta-analysis found homework compliance accounts for roughly 10% of the variance in CBT treatment outcomes — a measurable, modifiable effect most therapists can't observe directly without a client's self-report. Mendly's weekly report is that self-report, generated automatically from real-time logs instead of end-of-week recall.

What's your therapy-homework pattern?

Question 1 of 4

What usually happens to homework between sessions?

Homework compliance research keeps finding the same thing: the tool that actually gets used beats the tool that would help more if it were used. A between-session log only has clinical value on the days a client can bring themselves to open it.

Features

Hourly patterns

See when your inner critic is loudest. Morning spirals? Late-night overthinking? Your data, your story.

Weekly reports

A gentle summary of your week. Not a grade — just a window into your patterns.

Milestone badges

16 badges that celebrate your awareness, not your perfection. First Catch, Streaks, Early Bird, Voice Found — each one earned.

Not quite your pattern? For when the full CBT thought record is the reason it doesn't get done might fit better

Apps like MindLift ask clients to complete a full CBT thought record between sessions — useful when a client has the bandwidth, and the first thing skipped when they don't. Mendly's single-tap log is more likely to survive a genuinely bad week, which is often the week with the most useful data in it.

Common questions

Can I see my client's Mendly data directly, or does it stay with them?
The log stays with the client. There's no therapist-facing portal — clients export their own data as a CSV or discuss the weekly report directly in session. Mendly is a client-controlled tool, not a clinical monitoring system.
Will a client with low motivation actually keep using it?
The design bet is that friction, not motivation, is usually the reason between-session tools get abandoned. One tap is a lower bar than most clients fail to clear even on a bad week, which is different from asking them to want to do it.
Is Mendly a substitute for structured CBT homework?
No. It's a lightweight complement — a timing record, not a thought-restructuring exercise. If a client is doing structured homework already, Mendly can run alongside it for the moments that happen too fast for a worksheet.
