A panic attack trigger tracker that logs what your mind was doing before the panic arrived

Symptom trackers log the panic. Mendly logs what your mind was doing before it arrived. If you've tried Rootd, Dare, or AnxietyPulse and found the symptom-focused approach too clinical, Mendly's single-tap log captures the thought patterns that precede panic episodes. No distress scales, no breathing timers — just a record of the cognitive content before the episode.

The research

David Clark's cognitive model of panic found that panic attacks are typically driven by a catastrophic misinterpretation of bodily sensations in the minutes before the attack — a cognitive layer that symptom-based trackers (heart rate, breath rate) don't capture. Mendly's tap-to-log is built for that specific pre-attack window.

Quiz

What's your pre-panic pattern?

Question 1 of 4

What do you usually notice first, before a panic attack?

Your heart rate during a panic attack was never the useful data point. What your mind was interpreting ten minutes before is — and that's the layer symptom trackers were never designed to see.

Features

One-tap logging

One tap marks the thought — no typing, no prompts. The friction is so low it actually works mid-meeting, mid-walk, mid-spiral.

Hourly patterns

See when your inner critic is loudest. Morning spirals? Late-night overthinking? Your data, your story.

Shareable cards

Daily summary cards designed for Stories. Share a win without oversharing.

Not quite your pattern? An app for people whose AI therapy chatbot just disappeared might fit better

Apps like MindLift walk you through CBT reframing of anxious thoughts — useful when you have the cognitive space to engage. In the precursor window before a panic attack, that space rarely exists. Mendly captures the thought without asking you to respond to it.

Common questions

Can I use this during a panic attack, or only before?
You can tap to log during an attack, but it's genuinely difficult — high physiological arousal makes fine motor tasks harder. Mendly is most useful in the 10–30 minutes before, when the thought patterns are active but the physical symptoms haven't fully arrived. If you can log then, you're capturing the most actionable data.
Do I still need a symptom tracker alongside this?
That depends on what you're trying to understand. Symptom trackers and thought trackers capture different layers. Using both gives you the fullest picture. Mendly doesn't replace a symptom tracker — it adds the cognitive layer that symptom trackers leave out.
Is this a therapy app?
No. Mendly is not a clinical tool and not a substitute for therapy for panic disorder. If you're experiencing frequent panic attacks, a therapist trained in CBT or exposure-based approaches is the most appropriate resource. Mendly is a between-session logging tool, not a treatment.
